Brave the Shave: Employee Fundraising for Worlds Greatest Shave

On the 13th of March, our Operations and Workforce Support Coordinator, Tracey Kranen, will be braving the shave if she can reach her goal of raising $3,500 for Worlds Greatest Shave. All money donated will go toward supporting families facing blood cancer, giving them the emotional and practical support they need.

Donations also go toward funding vital research to help more people survive blood cancers while improving their quality of life.

Every day, 35 Australians are diagnosed with a form of blood cancer. Equating to one Australian every 41 minutes.

Even though research is improving the rate of survival, statistics still show that one Australian every two hours loses their life to blood cancer. The Leukaemia Foundation, through their work via the Worlds Greatest Shave, aims to reach their goal of zero lives being lost to blood cancer by 2035.

So far, over $2,100,000 has been raised this year through Worlds Greatest Shave for this cause; 1/8 of the $16.5 million the charity aims to raise over the year.

Since 1998, more than 2 million Aussies have taken part in Worlds Greatest Shave, with an estimated 37,500 kilograms of hair removed!

Tracey’s aim is to shave off all her hair after her fundraiser reaches $3,500. If the fundraiser doesn’t reach this amount by the 13th of March, Tracey has pledged to dye her hair a bright and crazy colour!
