Swing for a Cause: Recap of Our Annual Golf Day Fundraiser for PWS Victoria

February 26th 2023, marked a memorable occasion as we gathered for our annual golf day fundraiser and the Greenacres Golf Club, which is dedicated to raising essential funds for PWS Victoria and supporting families affected by Prader-Willi Syndrome.

Prader-Willi Syndrome is a complex genetic disorder characterised by various physical, cognitive, and behavioural challenges. Individuals with PWS often face difficulties with hyperphagia, a constant insatiable hunger leading to obesity and related health issues. Managing PWS requires a multidisciplinary approach involving medical care, specialised education, and ongoing support services.

Beyond the lush greens and scenic fairways, the event included touching moments as Renee Zilme, President of PWS Victoria, and Cherie Rhys-Jones, wife of AFL legend David Rhys-Jones, bravely shared their experiences of raising sons with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Their resilience and courage resonated deeply with all attendees and served as an inspiration to everyone who attended.

The occasion also served as a platform for our clients, partners, and suppliers to unite to support a common cause. It was a privilege to witness our community coming together, fostering connections and networks that extend far beyond the golf course.

Adding to the day, AFL legends Terry Daniher, Paul Van De Haar, Mark McClure, Greg Williams, and Craig Bradley graced us with their presence on the course.

The success of our annual Golf Day fundraiser reaffirms our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by PWS.

We extend our sincerest gratitude to the businesses and individuals who generously supported the cause:

Congratulations to Team Cairney for their outstanding performance and to all participants for their dedication to the cause.
