MC Labour sign on as Blues’ AFLW co-major partner
Carlton is among eight clubs to have a women’s team with Adelaide Collingwood, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Fremantle, Brisbane and Greater Western Sydney also competing in the inaugural season, which kicks off in February 2017.
Following the historic AFL Women’s Draft in October 2016, Carlton Football Club is pleased to announce MC Labour as a co-major partner for its women’s team.
MC Labour will appear on the back of the Blues’ AFLW guernsey, and will receive branding on the media backdrop and on all training and match day apparel.
The significant development of women’s football aligns with the progress MC Labour are striving to make to extend their employment opportunities in the construction industry for women.
“We see this partnership with Carlton’s women’s team as a strong fit, as MC Labour continues its drive to create opportunities and support women in a predominantly male dominated construction industry” says Marc Lunedei – Founder and Director or MC Labour
Carlton CEO Steven Trigg welcomed MC Labour to Carlton as an inaugural co-major partner of the Club’s women’s team.
“As a club, we have a genuine goal to become leaders in gender equality and MC Labour have recognised our strong work in this space. We thank MC Labour for their support of our club’s women’s program ahead of a maiden pre-season campaign.”
This a very exciting time for all concerned with the AFL Women’s league and we look forward to seeing the Blues’ women’s team in action in 2017.
