Men's Health Week

Men’s Health Week

This week, June 11 to 17, is Men’s Health week. Highlighting the need for boys and men to take the time to look after themselves. It is to ensure they are checking in with themselves to know and understand when their health may need attention.

This year’s Men’s Health Week theme is MEN AND FAMILIES: MAKING HEALTHY CONNECTIONS. “Exploring the different ways families support the health and well-being of men and boys, and the positive contributions men and boys make to their families.”

MC Labour Services considers all its staff, candidates and clients to be a part of its extended family. It is important we ensure the MC crew are in good condition and making these healthy connections.

It is a well-known fact that at a lot of Australian men’s health issues can go undiagnosed and/or untreated for much longer then they should. There are a number of reasons why – including “Men in Western societies such as Australia are less inclined than women to take an active role in maintaining their health. They are also less likely to seek professional help for problems, particularly those of an emotional nature”. For a more information on research and findings around areas of men’s health issues and have a look at this Better Health article.

Health and well-being

A combination of physical, social, intellectual and emotional factors. Health and well-being is not just about what you eat or going to the gym. This includes a person’s stress levels, how they feel in their environment, inclusion as well as physical activity and nutritional health.

It is imperative for all people, but especially men, to learn more and have a holistic approach to their health and well-being. It’s not just about being free of illness, its about being happy in life and enjoying loved ones. There is no harm is getting checked or asking for help.

Happy Men’s Health Week to all MC Labour Men and their families and friends who are supportive parts of their lives.
